Long-Read Sequencing

Oxford Nanopore MinION

The only portable real-time device for DNA and RNA sequencing

Oxford Nanopore Technology (ONT) sequencing platforms enable the generation of high-quality datasets with long read lengths, suitable for various applications.  Longer read lengths allow for challenging regions (e.g. repeats) to be resolved and can identify more complex structural variations in genomic sequence (duplications, large insertions).   Additionally, this platform can sequence nucleic acids directly, enabling the identification of base modifications on both DNA or RNA as well as the identification of full-length transcript isoforms.  We currently use this technology for Whole Plasmid Sequencing as well as custom projects.  Thus far, we have helped NIH investigators utilize this platform to:

PromethION2 (P2) Solo

Utilizing flow cells that generate hundreds of gigabases, enable PromethION-scale benefits in small to medium sized labs — including cores and commercial service providers. Suitable for users with lower sample processing requirements, up to ~200 flow cells per year.

GridION

Prepare, Sequence, Analyse — Sequence what you need, when you need it, running flow cells individually or together. Suitable for large genomes, whole transcriptomes & large numbers of samples.
