What is Sanger Sequencing?

Sanger sequencing is the gold standard for sequencing technology in that it provides a high degree of accuracy, long-read capabilities, and the flexibility to support a diverse range of applications. Sequencing can be performed on a variety of templates including PCR products, plasmids and as well as bacterial genomic DNA, BACs and cosmids.

The Core is supported by (2) ABI- 3500 xL Analyzers.  Dye-terminator sequencing is performed using a modified protocol supplied by Applied Biosystems BigDye Terminator 1.1 cycle sequencing kits and analyzed on either a 24-capillary 3500XL.
